'We use labels all the time, to describe our gender, our sexuality, our class, our race and so on, but the relationship between individuals and labels can be complex and fraught. Sometimes labels are worn proudly, to reclaim pride in an identity and signify solidarity with other members of an oppressed group. Sometimes labels are imposed or demanded by others, and can be used to perpetuate oppression and prejudice.' Come down to the Walters Room tonight for the Gender and Feminism Society's first meeting of the term. All are welcome to what will be a highly interesting and engaging evening!

Premier League Football:
Selwyn 5 – 1 Pembroke
Selwyn cemented their strong league campaign with an impressive victory over Pembroke, another title contender. With only a minute gone, Selwyn scored thanks to Hugo Hesselgren and Alex Thompson launching a swift attack that Lewis Ball was able to put away. This goal seemed to stun Pembroke into action who responded with a goal of their own through a header from a looping cross. Selwyn’s subsequent possession created more chances, resulting in a corner falling to David Kane who produced a cracking finish to give Selwyn the lead again. Pembroke almost equalised back, but were denied by a top save from goalkeeper Keir Baker who tipped a headed attempt onto the bar and away. Selwyn’s midfield continued to press on and Dave Hawes popped up before half time with a fine shot to make sure Selwyn went into the break with a two goal advantage...
